I’ve been off the blog for a while, not doing what I intended for a couple of reasons. First, who likes to read the ramblings of a deranged lunatic? Not I, for sure. When I hear about a 4000 word Huffpo piece beating against the American way of life, I roll my eyes that people could waste so much time bitching about how great they have it.
It’s asinine to say the least.
And yet, I have to wonder if maybe they’re onto something. With regards to 4k word counts of total crapola. I mean, with best sellers like “White Fragility,” it makes sense that vacuous intellectuals would love to circle jerk hate porn for America and a racial group they probably are a part of.
Makes total sense- they lack something legitimate to hate, so they start by hating themselves, then their “race,” and then their country. It’s a snowball effect that starts with a low image of themselves and their way of life. They buy into the bullshit that socialist college professors and the media tell them, and from there they can’t find a bottom limit. They seem to think that pure equality is morally superior to allowing people the liberty to rise and fall as they wish.
But there is no moral superiority to equality expressed by a tyrannical top down structure. You can’t legislate away inequality- so long as there are two or more people, equality will be a truth to our existence. But you can create a system whereby those who have less, who are at the bottom, can climb their way to the top if they have the drive to do so- and not have to kill others for the privilege.
Rather than force people to stay at the same level, allow people to rise and fall as they may- as their life’s choices allow. Even a supposed derelict should be able to rise to the level of, say, multibillion dollar talk show host if they have the drive to do it. We, as a people, have no right to restrict the peaceful endeavors of others simply because “They have too much.” Who the hell are we to judge?
This is a great nation, one where anyone can become anything if they just apply themselves. There’s no Junta or Politburo stopping you from being who you want to be, and the only real censorship occurs on social media platforms who are doing it for equality you see.
The vast, overwhelming majority of people in this country don’t care if you want to become a multibillion dollar swimsuit model, or singer, or talkshow host, or rabid Anti-American lecturer- they only ask that you let them pursue their own American dreams while you pursue yours. Even if what you’re doing is silly and counterproductive.
This year, I’m thankful for the 245 years of my country’s life. I’m thankful for having had the opportunity and privilege to serve her as a United States Marine, to have benefited from her station within the world, and for the life I have carved out for myself as a result. I'm thankful for my blog, the podcasts I've started, the few people who read/listen, and the CAD program we had the money to purchase so I can improve my income potential and the lives of my family as a result.
And I’m thankful that I am permitted, as a free law abiding citizen of this great nation, to defend her still in the peaceful capacity of the press (you know, the printing press- IE this blog- not the sanctimonious douche pickles over at CNN or Fox or MSNBC) rather than the less peaceful capacity of arms.
I’m thankful for a “mostly peaceful” 2020, and the 31% GDP growth, the record setting vaccine development, the Middle Eastern peace deals, the end of CRT in the government. I’m apprehensive about what next year will bring, but I’m thankful for what was accomplished this year, and for where we’ve come as a nation in the 245 years since our birth.
So, Happy Thanksgiving. May you find much to be hopeful and thankful about as you celebrate with those you love, whether on Skype/Zoom, or in person. Be safe, be alert. Be full of love and respect for your fellow Americans (even and especially if you disagree with them).
